Description
We are currently looking for a passionate full-time Remote Professor to join our MSN teaching team. Faculty - Full Professors are responsible for and are evaluated on teaching courses as assigned (70%), Boyer Model scholarship (10%), and service (20%), which may include participating in planning, assessing, and strategizing as part of the Nursing department, and other duties as assigned. An initial appointment as a Full Professor requires evidence of having met the requirements for promotion to the Full Professor rank set forth in the Faculty Handbook.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Full-time Professor (Any Rank, except as noted)
All faculty are expected to foster a Student Focused/Student Centered Approach:

  • Interact in a fair and impartial way with students.
  • Support and assess student academic achievement.
  • Motivate students to further their education and professional development.
  • Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment where students feel safe to learn and seek assistance when needed.
  • Provide opportunities outside of class for students to get assistance. (teaching/service)
  • Enforce the college rules as published in the Student Handbook and Joyce Catalog
  • Confer with Asst. Provost of Student Affairs when students are non-responsive or absent from class.
  • Submit grades and records accurately and promptly in accordance with the college grading policy and procedure.
  • Report any course or college-related problems to the Department Director or Chair of Nursing Programs.
  • Comply with all requirements set forth in the Faculty Handbook

Master Instruction
  • Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads(teaching)

  • Incorporates the organizing principles of Joyce programs into their teaching: evidence-based practice, problem-based learning, and interprofessional practice.

  • Didactic, lab, SCE, clinical, and fieldwork curriculum align seamlessly (teaching)

Requirements
Requirements:
  • PhD or DNP in nursing
  • Unencumbered and active RN licensure in state of residence and Utah OR a multistate compact license
  • At least 5 years of experience as a full-time graduate faculty member in a role that required the full spectrum of nurse educator knowledge and skills (time spent teaching across graduate and undergraduate programs or an entry-level MSN requires at least 5 years of full-time equivalent graduate teaching experience that is fully documented and explained in the application packet)
  • Experience leading or serving as a member of multiple graduate nursing committees
  • Extensive experience with curriculum and course development at the graduate level
  • Must qualify for rank of full professor at Joyce University

Preferred:
  • Leadership experience in academia
  • CNE or willing to obtain CNE within 1 year of employment
  • Holistic Nursing certification
  • A history of scholarly activity
  • Experience with competency-based education
  • Experience with nursing accreditation (ACEN preferred)
  • Ability to teach across Nurse Educator, Nurse Leader, and/or FNP options
  • Active and unencumbered license as a Family Nurse Practitioner in UT or ability to obtain UT FNP license
