Hours/Week: 37.5
Age of Students: 3-18 (varies based on assignment)
Max Caseload Size: We use a workload model, with an average of around 50 students. Caseload may be higher in schools where there is more consultation and less direct services, such as high schools. Average of 2-3 schools, depending on assignment.
School Locations: Elgin, South Elgin, Streamwood, Bartlett, Wayne
Additional Notes: We are actively seeking experienced Occupational Therapists with a strong background in pediatrics. Preference will be given to candidates with school-based experience. Due to our staffing shortage this year, we have limited capacity to mentor therapists without pediatric experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students aged 3-18, addressing their individual needs and goals.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective therapy plans.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' needs and progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions and student progress.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals and objectives.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff to create a conducive learning environment for students.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid Illinois state license as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience in pediatric occupational therapy, with preference for school-based experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
