Full-Time Nanny/Family Assistant, experience with Autism preferred

Busy, sweet family of 6 is in need of a full-time nanny to work alongside Mom and help their family thrive! Their energetic, loving kids are 3, 6, 9, and 11. Mom stays at home and works part time as a writer, Dad works a lot outside the home and travels for work as well. 11 year old boy is on the Autism spectrum and has recently transitioned to homeschooling. He is very high functioning and super smart, but can struggle with emotional regulation and have meltdowns. Patience and the ability to stay calm in any situation will be key! Their ideal nanny will be a Jill of all trades who is experienced with varying ages and large families. The role will include household support such as laundry, dishes, meal prep, and tidying.

Bonus if you have experience working with kids with Autism, have a background in education, and speak Spanish. Must be able to make a long term commitment.

Location: Cardiff, CA

Schedule and Hours: M-F 30 hours per week. Potential for more hours if you are qualified to help with homeschool tutoring (i.e. have a degree or certifications in teaching, classroom experience, etc.) Exact schedule TBD, but generally between the hours of 8am and 5pm.

Flexibility for adjustments in the schedule when Dad is traveling or a special event comes up with advance notice.

Rate: $30 per hour

Pets in the Home: 1 dog, a lab that is trained as a therapy dog

Responsibilities: The 6 and 9 year old girls attend school full time during the day, 3 year old attends preschool part time. For those morning hours the nanny would help with the 3 year old if he is home, supervising homeschool tutors for the 11 year old, and helping out around the house with whatever Mom needs. 11 year old also has therapies throughout the week and the rest of the kids each have one extracurricular activity they attend, so tag teaming with Mom to get everyone where they need to go in the afternoons. When kids are home, engaging with them and playing with them. They form strong attachments to their nannies and are sweet, loving kids. 11 year old needs someone who is super patient and will really get to know him, see and encourage the best in him, and respect his dignity. Mom likes to schedule 1 on 1 time with each kid, so the nanny might be home with 3 kids while mom takes 1 out for a special date. Light housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, tidying, and meal prep is required as this a Nanny/Family Assistant role. Mom needs someone who can be an extension of her and willing to pitch in wherever needed. The family will provide a car for the nanny to drive while on the job.

Requirements:

3+ years experience as a nanny, experience with varying ages and multiple children

Able to make a long term commitment, ideally several years

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Proactive, self-starter, doesn’t need a lot of direction

Comfortable supervising kids in the pool (they are putting in a pool soon)

Experience working with kids with Autism is preferred

Background in education/tutoring is preferred

Trustline registered or willing to register

Bonus if you speak Spanish
