SalaryLiberation Programs is seeking a Full Time Nurse for our busy outpatient clinic in Bridgeport, CT. The shift is (approximately) Monday to Friday, 11am-7:30pm with rotating Saturday shifts from 5:30am-11:00am. The staff Nurse helps carry out the agency mission and duties of the medical services unit.
DUTIES
Methadone Outpatient Clinic- Provide “back-up” and relief for the methadone dispensing nurse
- Dose via Avatar and hand dose in emergency situations
- Calibrate equipment and close out for the day
- Document in Avatar as needed
- Document in AWARDS as needed to provide medical care coordination
- Provide patient education on medications, side effects, medical conditions.
- Lead “wellness” efforts for clients
Residential Programs:
- Provide oversight for self-administration of medication in residential including receipt of medication, storage of medication, labeling and disposal of medication.
- Monitor and document observation of self administration.
- Care coordination between residential and outpatient medical services.
- Fills orders for medications with pharmacy
- Provide patient education on medications, side effects, medical conditions
- Provide training to residential staff in collaboration with Medical Director medication policies as required
- Triage requests for “sick visits” to physician.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current CT Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) .
- Three to five years of direct patient care in hospital, primary care, psychiatric facility or home care. Experience in substance abuse/methadone dispensing preferred.
- Knowledge of the principles of addiction treatment. Practical experience in the field of addiction treatment is preferred.
- A work history that demonstrates leadership, accomplishment and the ability to get work accomplished on time and within predetermined specifications.
- Computer skills, with demonstrated ability with Microsoft Outlook.
- Familiarity with methadone dispensing software, Accumedic preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills along with the interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization and its stakeholders.
