FULL-TIME HEAD CUSTODIAN
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalency required.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to recognize and maintain a clean environment.
- Must be able to read and understand the English language - i.e. chemical labels.
- Must have the ability to cooperate with supervisors, administrators, faculty, and students.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to follow directions and complete assigned responsibilities.
- Upper body strength to lift up to 40 pounds and carry more than 50 feet or up three flights of stairs throughout the work day.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds to waist height.
- Lower body strength to stand and walk throughout the day.
- Ability to work at heights from a ladder.
- Ability to work around or be in contact with items that affect senses (i.e. chemicals).
- Need to be adaptable to varying temperatures and climates encountered indoors and outdoors
Specific job duties of Head Custodian above normal custodial duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the preparation of facilities for classroom activities and school events
- Oversee and support assigned custodians in the performance of their assignments
- Ensure that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner.
- Consults with administrative personnel for the purpose of planning, prioritizing and scheduling custodial activities and achieving site maintenance objectives.
- Maintains supplies and equipment (e.g. cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuums, mops, etc.).
- Prepares written materials (e.g. supply requisitions, safety inspections, work orders, inventory records, time sheets, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or relating activities to administration for action.
- Oversees security of facilities and grounds (e.g. doors, gates, alarms, lights, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and/or potential liability.
