Position Summary
The Pharmacist position is responsible for dispensing drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners to customers. The position is required to provide information to customers about medications and their use. May advise physicians and other health practitioners on any concerns they have about the prescribed medication.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities
- Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals
- Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions
- Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' work flow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counseling patients on drug therapies
- Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy
- Maintain reports for controlled, outdated, and recalled medications; and prescription and customer files.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures for controlled substance dispensing and record keeping.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

*Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD degree
- Completion of an ACPE Accredited Immunization training program
- Pharmacy license in the State of California

- Strong ability to multitask and be accurate in all tasks
- Ability to work weekends and alternate pharmacy locations
