Overview
Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Waxahachie, TX is seeking applicants for a full-Time Faculty opening in the Practical Theology Department.
Position Description: Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Practical Theology and, particularly in Youth Ministries, both online and on-campus.
Time Frame
Start Date: August 2024 (anticipated selection process will begin in May)
Responsibilities
Prepare and oversee the delivery of undergraduate and graduate level courses in Youth Ministries and Bible in online and on-campus modes, along with other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
A terminal degree in a Practical Theology field with sufficient course in Bible/Theology to be able to teach undergraduate Bible courses from a college, seminary, or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university. Doctoral candidates will also be considered.
Proven local youth ministry/leadership experience is required.

Once the application and resume have been reviewed, the candidate will receive a notice to submit the following items:
  • Copies of transcripts from all higher education institutions (must be from a regionally accredited school). During preliminary interviews these transcripts may be photocopied. As candidacy formalizes, there will be a need for genuine official transcripts.
  • A 3-5 page excerpt of a research paper done for any graduate level work, Masters Thesis, Doctoral Dissertation, or other published writings.
  • Candidates for Church Ministries positions should submit an audio recording of an average sermon or classroom presentation.
  • A written expression of your philosophy of Christian Higher Education.
  • Letters of reference for the applicant, along with a Pastoral reference from current church attending.
  • If applicant is a credentialed minister, a statement from the district secretary confirming the applicants credential is in good standing must be submitted with the application.
  • Completion of Exploratory Themes document
