Full-Time Barista/Food Service

In order to provide exceptional customer service, it is crucial to be well-versed in common food allergies and familiar with our menu offerings. You must also be a dependable and a team player. Showing up on time and being ready to perform is not only expected but greatly appreciated. Effective communication is key in our small team where we cover for one another when needed. In addition you must be ready to work, your hard work and dedication are what make our business successful.

We are searching for a full time staff member (up to 30-40 hours) and require weekend and Monday availability. This job is not a summer job, temporary, seasonal, or evening hours. We are looking for long-term commitment throughout the fall and holiday season. You must be dependable, responsible, and have reliable transportation. We also drug test and do background checks.

Benefits for this position include Health Insurance (HRA) after 90 days, one week paid vacation after one year, holiday pay for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and a free staff meal and espresso beverage per shift.

Barista

- Welcome customers and provide information about the menu

- Prepare beverages by following exact recipes

- Baristas must do all tasks quickly and efficiently

- Form good customer relationships.

- Knowledge/ willingness to learn different espresso and tea based beverages

- Keep work station organized and clean

- Communicate effectively with team members

- Follow all food and safety requirements

Food Service

- Follow recipes and prepare menu items in a fast-pace

- Serve customers with a friendly and efficient manner

- Wrapping, date-labeling, and storing food items

- Experience getting food or beverages ready for consumption which could include cutting, peeling, and washing food items.

- Experience with preparing, serving, cooking, and storing food safely

- Must be able to keep kitchen organized and clean

Requirements for the position

- Proven work experience in the food service or beverage industry

- Excellent communication

- Maintain professional formality in all forms of communication (email, messages etc)

- Basic math skills

- Understanding of common food allergies

- Maintaining a fast pace and positive demeanor while working well with a team

- Take direction and feedback positively

- Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
