Salary: $30 - $50 per hour
For over 35 years this not-for-profit senior living community located in New York, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65+ by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services. The RN will provide nursing care in accordance with standard nursing practice and in accordance with standards of care. The nurse will conduct clinical rounds and collaborate with nursing staff regarding resident care needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand the importance of person centered care and demonstrate the use, as well as coaching team members to utilize person centered approach to care and language.
Assists in administering medications per policy and procedures and state regulations. Ensure medication documentation is accurate and complete.
Respond to resident requests for support and use communication systems appropriately
Monitor and collaborate with Resident Care Partners and coach them to ensure resident care meets standards. Actively participates in household routines.
Ensure resident care needs are met by providing effective communication to team.
Update individual resident care plan in collaboration with the resident, responsible party and interdisciplinary team.
Recognize and report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property to the Administrator and/or the Wellness Nurse Manager and support the investigation.
Ensure Pharmacy and treatment supply usage is efficient to ensure costs to resident are accurate and not wasteful.
Complete accident/incident reports as necessary on a timely basis. Notify family/ physician according to regulations and standards.
Complete food and equipment checklists and logs as required.
Pay attention to and follow an appropriate plan for resident preferences, food allergies, diet and texture restrictions.
Maintain kitchen in a safe and sanitary manner.
Report hazardous conditions, equipment and accidents/ incidents to the supervisor on the shift they occur. Reports all occupational exposures.
Follow safety requirements and established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures.
Follow safe food handling guidelines.
Completes required educational activities as assigned.
