Overview:
To teach, supervise and ensure a nurturing environment for infants. Also, to support SBP's program in providing quality care that is safe, affirming, enjoyable and enriching to children.
Description:
Understands and demonstrates attendance and punctuality.
Ensures equipment/facility is clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
Directly responsible for keeping classroom sanitary. (This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing)
Be familiar with emergency procedures and follow them.
Ensure children are supervised at all times and proper adult to children ratios required by MDHS are maintained at all times.
Establish routines, expectations, give emotional support, uphold an organized classroom, and provide instructional support.
Observe and record progress of infants daily.
Maintain communication and a professional relationship with parents and co-workers.
Perform any and all other related duties as assigned.
Establish routines, remain consistent and reliable.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School diploma or GED is required (CDA or bachelors a plus)
Knowledge of Conscious Discipline a HUGE plus.
3-6 months of experience working with 5 or more children at the same time is a plus.
Must be able to adapt to the center's ever-changing needs and remain flexible.
Must maintain 15 hours of continuing education that is provided free of charge each year through the Lift-Ed Portal provided by MDHS.
Reliable Transportation to and from work
Must pass MSDH Background Check
Able to obtain MS 121 immunization record
Physical Requirements:
Walking, Squatting, Climbing, Hearing, Standing for periods longer than one hour, Pushing (50 lbs.), Lifting (50 lbs.), Sitting, Pulling (50 lbs.), Speech, and Vision
Must be able to lift and move equipment properly as need arise.
Must be physically able to participate in high-energy activities with students.

As a employee to a provider participating in the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) Child Care Payment Program (CCPP) you will have the ability to apply for a monthly monetary incentives and scholarship programs.
May qualify for free childcare for the first born (upon availability) and a 25% for each subsequent child.
Entry level teacher - $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
