Full Time Barista / Customer Service (32-40 hours)

It's time! The busiest season is approaching and we need YOU! Junk Food Bakery is an inclusive bakery with a full coffee bar, custom cakes and scratch-made baked goods that remind you of a good time. We can't wait to add you to our team!

Pay: DOE $13-$15 per hour + daily cash tips (tips range from $2-$5 per hour)

Job Description:

• Provides excellent Customer Service to customers.
• Prepares specialty drinks and coffees based on customer preference with a manual espresso machine. drip coffee machine or Vitamix.
• Helps customers as needed with orders, questions or service.
• Maintains knowledge on all items.
• Prepares all coffee syrups and helps in the kitchen as needed.
• Keeps up on all front of house dishes and helps with back of house if needed.
• Weighs/measures ingredients correctly with a scale and or measuring cups.
• Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration.
• Keeps waste to a minimum by utilizing proper quantities and rotating product.
• Utilizes any and all leftovers into usable product.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 10 hours.
• Cleans, breaks down, and puts away all baking equipment including: taking trash, cleaning the espresso machine, cases, fridges, drip coffee machine, freezers and sinks.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Maintain a positive, friendly attitude.
• Ability to safely and effectively operate standard foodservice equipment like espresso machines, drip coffee machines, cook tops, and mixers.
• Ability to memorize drink recipes and execute them on demand
• Extended knowledge in food safety (EX- Food Handlers Certification)
• Ability to work well with others and follow direction.
• Self-motivated
• Reliable
• Multi-tasker

Requirements:

• 18 years or older
• Relevant experience - MUST have prior experience in industry
• Minimum (1) year of coffee shop experience
• Minimum (1) year of Customer Service experience
• Maintains current Food Handler Permit or is willing to get one within 30 days of hire.
• Reliable transportation
