Works with Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the Quality Control and food safety activities in the processing facility for a particular shift. Supports and maintains standards of quality and food safety. Acts on behalf of the QA Manager when needed.
Accountabilities:
- Responsible for training the Quality Control Technicians
- Ensure that all testing programs are consistent, and procedures are followed.
- Communicate with Operations and QA Management when Critical Control Points (CCP) are out of control.
- Responsible for following, promoting, and enforcing food safety practices and food defense within the facility.
- Ensures HACCP, FSMA, federal, local, and company rules and regulations are adhered to throughout the facility.
- Ensure that all paperwork (documentation) is complete and accurate for each shift and each day.
- Assist Quality Assurance Manager in reviewing documentation for trending analysis.
- Conduct quality control inspections on a regular basis or random basis as may be required by the operations.
- Supervise quality control inspection requirements at the facility. Ensure that quality standards are maintained at all times.
- Conduct training meeting with QA and production employees.
- Participate in monthly plant inspections.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Quality Control Technician or Quality Control Supervisor in a related field
- Ability to train others (QC Technicians and Inspectors)
- Organized and able to multitask
- Proven working experience as a Quality Supervisor/Quality Technician
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data
- Excellent analytical skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Good organization, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely while adapting communications content to level of audience
- Ability to listen actively and to respond to questions with complete and accurate answers
- Experience with PC spreadsheet and database applications
