Job Summary
Our Fruit Fly department nurtures and harvests the flightless Fruit Fly cultures that our customers all over the world will use to feed their reptiles. As a Fruit Fly Caretaker, you will be a part of the entire life cycle process from setting mother cultures to harvesting fruit flies. You might be a great fit in Fruit Flies if you enjoy a job where you can work as a team and learn to do a variety of different tasks. To work in Fruit Flies, you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, squat, and move freely throughout the room for the entirety of your shift without limitations. You must be comfortable handling and working around insects.
Job Description
Some of the things that you will do as a Fruit Fly Caretaker include:
- Maintain and care for Fruit Fly cultures daily.
- Harvest fruit flies for the day's orders.
- Reset mother cultures weekly.
- Monitor supplies and keep the room clean.
- Cross-train to help in other departments when needed.
- Follow all instructions and perform other tasks assigned by the Lead or Manager.
Schedule
The schedule for Fruit Flies is a fixed day-shift schedule as follows:
- Monday-Friday: 7:30 am-4:30 pm (with 1 hour lunch)
- Saturday/Sunday: Off
