Front Office Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join our team at Comfort Care. As a national DME, we are committed to delivering exceptional service to our patients. In this role, you will be responsible for managing orders and providing outstanding customer support to patients via phone or email. Your role will be crucial in ensuring a positive patient experience and facilitating smooth order processing.

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients in person, over the phone, or through email, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests related to orders and requests.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with patients, ensuring their needs are met with empathy and compassion.
• Provide accurate and detailed information about available products, pricing, and insurance coverage.
• Process orders, verifying patient information, insurance eligibility, and required documentation.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal departments to ensure efficient order processing and timely delivery of equipment.
• Coordinate with the billing department to address any payment-related issues or insurance claims.
• Maintain knowledge of durable medical equipment, including product specifications, usage instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Update patient records accurately and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
• Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the appropriate department or supervisor for further assistance.
• Ensure strict adherence to patient privacy and confidentiality regulations, such as HIPAA, when handling patient information and medical records.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional experience in Customer Service or healthcare are a plus.
• Proven experience in Customer Service or a related field, preferably in the healthcare industry.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to empathize and effectively communicate with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle a high volume of patient inquiries and orders.
• Proficient in using computer systems, including MS Office Suite, and experience with software like BrightTree is a huge plus.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of insurance billing processes is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and documentation.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding Customer Service and patient care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.47 - $21.04 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
