Summary: Provides leadership and support with the daily activities of each clinical department to include appointment-scheduling, registration, keying encounters upon exit, and patient assistance as needed. Acts as key resource with training and development of registration staff provides guidance on proper methods of patient verification and charge entry to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include monitoring/performing the following. Greets and directs patient, salespeople, and visitors.

Responsible for efficient flow of patients to the prospective departments.

Printing provider schedules 2 days in advance and distribute to all departments.

Back up all departments as needed for keying functions.

Provide departmental internal audits for compliance on keying practices.

Register patient by verifying that patient's information is accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and in patient's charts as needed.

Responsible for patients receiving and scheduling appointments in a timely manner.

Responsible for verification of patient payment source prior to visits.

Ensures adequate charges/fees are applied according to services rendered.

Responsible for collecting all fees due from patient’s n accordance with company policy.

Responsible for reconciling cash to the audit report at the end of each workday.

Responsible for investigating and addressing any complaints when immediate supervisor is not available.

Review and maintain monthly provider schedule and all provider schedule and all provider protocols prior to the assignment of an appointment.

Reschedule appointments affected by changes in provider schedules as necessary according to protocol.

Works with Managed Care and Training and Development Coordinators to build proper curriculum for registration staff.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor is Degree, with medical or human services background and 5 years’ experience. Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service and computer skills needed. Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with staff, patients and public.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software and Word Processing software.
