Front Desk/ Technician

Truckee Family Eyecare Optometry is looking to add a bright and engaging person to our team. Successful candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Experience in the optometric/medical field preferred but not required. This is an excellent position for someone considering a future career in the medical field as it earns you patient care hours for nursing or PA school.

Responsibilities include:

-Collect and document patient’s medical and ocular histories

-Answer phone calls, check voicemail/email, direct communication with patients

-Collect fees, bill vision insurance and daily reconciliation

-Performance of diagnostic pre-tests

-Place and track contact lens orders

-Contact lens insertion and removal training

-Work closely as a TEAM with Optometrists, technicians and optical staff

Candidates must be able to perform detailed work independently and with accuracy. Exceptional candidates willing to cross-train in the optical department. At this time we are hiring for 3 days/week with some flexibility with hours. A full-time position may become available in the near future.
