Job description

Description:
  • Make reservations, check-in/out guests, and provide information and services to all guests and visitors.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Viking Hospitality Group services, including specials, packages, amenities and local happenings.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Foster and promote a cooperative working environment with all staff and departments.
  • Answer department phone within 3 rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
  • Promote positive guest relations to all guests approaching Front Desk.
  • Accommodate all requests for information in a congenial manner.
  • Process all guest reservations and check-ins as outlined in Front Desk manuals.
  • Maximize revenue and up sell features and amenities for hotel, spa, cooking school and restaurant.
  • Set up accurate accounts for each guest checking in according to their requirements (i.e. share-withs, separate room/tax/incidentals, comp).
  • Document all guest requests, complaints or problems immediately and notify designated department/personnel for resolving the situation.
  • Document and confirm reservations and cancellations.
  • Communicate pertinent guest information and VIP arrivals to designated departments/personnel (i.e., special request, amenity delivery). Coordinate schedules and all necessary paperwork as related to the bellman staff and human resources.
  • Adhere to all hotel requirements for accidents, injuries and emergency situations.
  • Adhere to all cashiering procedures as outlined in Front Desk manuals.
  • Assist in other areas or with special projects as assigned by General Manager or Front Office Manager.
Requirements:
  • Well developed communication skills.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, weekends and public holidays.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Comfortable working with computers.
  • Pleasant personality.
  • Good organizational and follow up skills.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
