Job Summary:
Freezer position will be in charge of maintaining the freezer that product is stored at. Must be detail oriented, must be able to operate a forklift.
Responsibilities:
- Employee uses a tow motor to stack pallets of pork product onto storage racks, as high as 18' to 20'.
- Remove dividers from freezer pallets or products with use of pallet inverter. 30# to 80# boxes.
- Lift boxes of product on and off pallets from floor to 4' high. Weights vary from 30# to 80#, average weight 60#. (Approximately 50% of work is lifting by hand, and 50% is lifting using tow motor.)
- Load freezer with boxes of back fat (60#) onto trailer floor twice per week. Approximately 700 boxes to each trailer. Adding boxes to pallets to have a set number per pallet.
- Work approximately 8-hour shift inside freezer. Temperatures range from 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Load trucks with use of tow motor.
- Employee has to unload 800-900 boxes of neck bones by hand, put boxes on pallets, and load into the freezer.
- Unloading Company trucks of pallets, on daily basis. Approximately 10 pallets per truck.
- Reading invoices; picking up boxes off pallets and setting product on a cart at floor level and/or up to 5 feet high on pallet
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to operate Forklift and pallet jack
- Walking between 3-7 miles a day
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk up and down stairs several times throughout day
Must be able to work in in variable room temperatures 10 F - 100 F, also wet conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
