Freezer Order Picker

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00a - 2:30p

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS –
1. Ability to read and follow pick sheets and pick products efficiently and accurately.
2. Required to fill picking slots when emptying a slot or when a slot has a few cases left.
3. Ability to stack and configure product onto pallet appropriately.
4. Learn and follow shipping guidelines and FIFO (First In First Out) as well as how the dock loc and light systems operate.
5. Operate various electric lift trucks and pallet wrappers. Shall be able to perform simple maintenance on forklifts as well.
6. Ability to fill out shortage lists and fill shortages.
7. Pick orders according to the schedule of when trucks are leaving
8. Assure customers receive quality products and that product that has been properly packaged.
9. Mark all pallets and shortages for customers in a clear and distinct manner.
10. Assist with keeping an organized work environment.
11. Maintain a good understanding of all paperwork pertaining to truck loads and keep them updated if changes occur.
12. Learn and utilize proper procedures for stocking product (dates, temperatures, rotation, etc.)
13. Assist with any incoming/outgoing truck loads as well as produced pallets from the production area.
14. Clear cases of product off conveyor belt and palletize them onto proper pellets.
15. Transport full pallets to designated areas of freezer.
16. Able to withstand subzero temperatures for duration of scheduled shift.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – WAREHOUSE:
1. Read and interpret “Ingredient Transfer List”. Carry radio for communication with production and warehouse staff. Gather, transport and deliver requested ingredients to production areas in an orderly and timely manner.
2. Unload and receive incoming freight from trucks and perform proper paperwork as needed.
3. Operate forklifts and other in-house equipment as designated by Warehouse or Freezer Manager.
4. Must be certified after training to operate forklifts.
5. Restock shelves as needed.
6. Transport products to and from outside buildings by forklift.
7. Participate in monthly inventory count (weekend work).

PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS
1. Remove garbage from warehouse or freezer/loading areas and keep area clean.
2. General maintenance work such as sweeping, baling cardboard, sweeping out trucks and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
3. Assist at freezer/loading dock as needed.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CHARACTERISTICS
1. Must possess good communication skills.
2. Must possess good problem solving skills.
3. Must be willing to learn basic computer skills consisting primarily of computer scanning and e-mail.
4. Ability to read, speak and write the English language. Must be able to perform simple math problems, including addition, subtraction and multiplication.
5. Must be able to lift 52 pounds on a frequent basis and be able to occasionally transport 25 to 52 pounds while climbing or descending a stair stepladder.
6. Anything over 52 pounds must be lifted with assistance.
7. Must have ability to work well within department teams as well as production and office personnel.
8. Ability to think safety and work safely at all times and follow proper ergonomic and safety practices.
9. Must utilize all ergonomic equipment (lift tables, adjustable carts, etc.) when available.
10. Ability to follow all HACCP and GMP policies.
11. Bending, stooping, walking, reaching, grasping, carrying, repetitive motions and visual skills is required.
12. Report any and all accidents, incidents, or concerns to the Supervisor immediately.
13. Attend all team meetings and monthly company meetings and be a contributing partner to the team.
14. Normal workweek is 40 hours. However, it may be necessary to work overtime on a daily and/or weekly basis.

Pay: From $24.80 per hour
