Freelance Advertising Copywriter

Tampa Magazines is looking for a Freelance Advertising Copywriter to develop engaging, on-brand, actionable copy for clients across all three of our print publications. One of the benefits of advertising with Tampa Magazines is our in-house ad creation services. This role will involve working with our advertising sales representatives, art directors, photographers and clients from a wide range of industries to create traditional display ads, branded content and long-form sponsored profiles. From restaurants to doctors to architects, our clients need your words to tell their stories — and get our readers to take action.

Candidates must be well-organized, self-directed and have excellent time management skills. The ability to meet deadlines is a must. To be considered for this role, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your advertising copywriting experience. You must submit a portfolio, either as an attachment or a url, containing three to five samples of your previously published copywriting work.

REQUIREMENTS:

-3+ years of ad copywriting for an agency or in-house advertising/marketing department

-must be highly comfortable talking to clients and Tampa Magazines teammates over the phone and email

-ability to work closely with our in-house creative staff and external clients

-ability to take direction and edits

-dependable, detail-oriented, able to work both autonomously and as part of a team

-availability to communicate with our advertising team and creative team most days Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. is preferred

-knowledge of Adobe InCopy is a plus

We've been operating our business at our location on Harbour Island in downtown Tampa since 2001.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 10 per week
