Overview
The Associate Fashion Stylist should have a demonstrated history working in the apparel and fashion industry. The Stylist should be passionate about the brand's identity as well as be aware of current trends within fashion to push brand direction forward. The Free People studio environment relies heavily on teamwork, and we are seeking someone who shows leadership skills, as well as works collaboratively with others in a creative space. This position works closely with art direction, photography, production, and merchandising. The Associate Fashion Stylist should have a strong creative eye, as well as creative problem-solving skills, strong work ethic, time management, attention to detail, and willingness to adapt to feedback.

Associate Fashion Stylist

This position works closely with art direction, photography, production, and merchandising. The Associate Fashion Stylist should have a strong creative eye, as well as creative problem-solving skills, strong work ethic, time management, attention to detail, and willingness to adapt to feedback.
Responsibilities
- Style e-commerce and creatives across all brand categories. Present style outs in a concise and professional manner that paints a clear picture for intended direction.
- Attend weekly handovers with Merchandising team. Take notes to ensure all product is being shot with the buyer's comments in mind.
- Oversee junior stylists while on-set to ensure all samples are being steamed and prepped for all web shoots.
- Accessorize and style all outfits as model goes on-set. Oversee junior stylists do the same.
- Be on set to watch models to ensure proper fit of samples. Ensure all samples are being shot accurately. Communicate any directive to art director and photographer.
- In collaboration with the photographer on set, direct the model on mood and pose.
- Partner with the photographer to make selects after shooting each item. Ensure that the photos represent the true fit of the garment.
- Collaborate with Free People's wholesale division by styling out line sheets each month and executing directives while on set.
- Attend big idea meetings and pull inspiration that represents each trend for the month. Work with styling team to ensure these ideas translate to web.
- Gathers trend inspiration by continuously viewing runway shoes, campaigns, editorials, photography, and influencers. Has ongoing awareness of top industry competitors.
Qualifications/Job skills
- Experience working in the apparel and fashion industry.
- Experience and proven past success with working in team environment.
- Demonstrates initiative in streamlining processes and coming up with creative solutions.
- Shows leadership skills and contributes to creating a collaborative and positive environment.
Education
