Job description

SUMMARY
Responsible for identifying, investigating, developing, and evaluating new business development opportunities within France both inbound and outbound of the US for new and established customers that fit and complement company objectives and plans regionally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations:
  • Establish customer contact and rapport to maintain awareness of customer's business objectives in conjunction with ongoing account maintenance. Interact with Global and Field Sales teams to create and opportunities/solutions for new or existing customers;
  • Utilize customer knowledge to develop additional or new opportunities for defined routes;
  • Qualify inquiries/bids against target market, core competency, revenue potential, company capabilities, and projected business forecast;
  • Manage RFP process to include solution design concepts, deadlines, supply added information, presentation, and process/status tracking;
  • Create written strategic action plans for customer management and expansion;
  • Responsible for maintaining solid sales growth as well as supporting local sales staff in France as well as the USA;
  • Oversee projects and business relationships; exceed customers' expectations;
  • Responsible for directing contractual negotiations and assisting/participating in the negotiations as necessary;
  • Responsible for sales/margin/profit growth by supporting sales teams in USA and France and adding value to sales meeting; defining targets; visiting customers in USA and France; reviewing a tender approach; and improving margins by selecting Hub approach.
  • Defining own customer targets
  • Develop hub approach to support efficiency: define strategies to optimize cargo flows in the EAST region of the United States by choosing where to concentrate flows to reduce costs.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, specific to supply chain logistics or global transportation. Generally, prefer 2-4 years of related sales/Trade Lane experience. This is primarily a sales position requiring sufficient logistics/transportation background to secure new business.
CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively
  • Able to deal with different cultures and teams in the US & France
  • English and French fluency required
  • Ability to sell internally and externally the France region
  • 2-4 trips a year to France

LOCATION
  • Must reside in the Northeast
  • Must be able to travel within the Northeast region
