Job Description
Science Systems and Applications Inc, (SSAI) is seeking an FPGA Software Engineer to support projects at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The successful candidate will provide FPGA and Software Engineering support related to optical and opto-mechanical engineering efforts for a spaceflight lidar systems. This includes design and analysis, integration and testing of spaceflight hardware. The candidate must be proficient with VHDL, COSMOS, Thermal control systems, and must have experience producing visualizations of large datasets with Python tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or other applicable engineering discipline and 5 years of applicable experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the development of aerospace software or hardware.
- Experience with the following:
- Coding experience in Ruby, LabView, Vivado, MATLAB
- Creation of mechanical drawings in CREO, Autocad, Solidworks
- VHDL
- COSMOS operating system
- Thermal control systems
- Working with Python scripts for visual post processing of large datasets
- Conducting I&T activities
- US Citizenship Required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with LiDAR hardware development is desired.
- 5+ years space flight electronics or optomechanical experience.
