POSITION OVERIVEW:
We are looking for a hard-working Production Core Maker for a full-time job opportunity in Franklin, IN. If interested, please see the job duties below.
JOB DUTIES:
- Performs one or more core making operations including bench, shell, and CO2 operations.
- Makes molds from gated patterns.
- Follows detailed directions and standardized methods.
- Patching and finishing mold surfaces when needed.
- Some simple and highly repetitive form making.
- Continuous mental or visual attention required in making cores and mixing sand and setting cycles.
- Detect faulty sand mixes and defective molds.
- Mixes sand, gets proper weight of sand and resinol binders, set proper temperature, place mixed sand in investment box, clamp heated pattern on box, set pattern, pull pattern, scrape excess sand and place backing.
- Place pattern in heater and bake to prescribed temperature, remove and stack.
- Set up and check the top plate on the machine making certain that holes are clean and properly aligned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Reports all unusual conditions to the group leader.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 9 months to 1 year of experience preferred.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Effective communication skills verbally and written, in English.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
- Must be able to lift heavy weights.
- Must wear required PPE including safety glasses, leather or steel toed work boots, heat protective suits, and face shields during certain operations.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods.
