Job Title: Foundry Manufacturing Expert
Duration: Contract (Onsite)
Location: Mapleton, Peoria, IL
Job Description:
- Expertise with NPI (New Production Introduction) processes
- Good to have NPI, Project Management, Heavy Engineering, Engines
- Project management experience in manufacturing of casting parts
- Provide assurance of product quality through chemistry and tensile strength audits
- Conduct defect analysis of high scrap jobs to assure issues are properly identified
- Provide leadership and support of melting issues through conversions and new process development
- Develop centrifugal cast liner metallurgical processes including Taguchi experimentation production Runs for grey iron, high strength GI, and steadite
- Provide CGI (compacted graphite) support of Sinter cast including Non-destructive testing of all parts
- Complete Datapaq live furnace studies on all stress relief furnaces
- Oversee quality of incoming metallics and ferroalloys
- Develop and meet plant chemistry aims for all products
- Develop and deliver charge make up recipes for all specifications
- Complete non-destructive testing (NDT) setup for final machined liner measurements
- Support technical MACT (smoke environmental compliance)
- Support induction heat treatment in liner machining line
Qualifications Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in an accredited Metallurgical or Materials Engineering curriculum 10 years of experience in the foundry/metal casting industry
- Basic understanding of iron metallurgy as it pertains to engines
- Top Candidates Will Also Have: Master's degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Metallurgical or Materials Science curriculum 15 years of experience working in a foundry environment
- Expertise in melting operations Knowledge of fatigue testing and analysis.
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing experience
- 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Proven team leadership skills
- Process development experience
- Working in a matrixed organization
