Job description

The Foundation Manager will play an integral role in managing all of the planning, organizing and implementation of fundraising, development and donor relations efforts for Norton King’s Daughter’s Health (NKDH), in support of the Norton Healthcare Foundation, as well as for the Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation, in Madison, IN and surrounding areas.

Primary job duties include:
• Management of all internal and external fundraising events and special projects.
• Management of new and prospective donor relationships, including conducting donor visits, making thank you calls, etc.
• Identifying, researching and developing potential sources of gifts from individuals, corporations, community organizations, grant resources, etc.
• Speaking to community and corporate groups on behalf of the Foundations.
• Serving as a Norton/NKDH representative at community events.
• Working in the donor database (Raiser’s Edge), such as updating records, adding gifts, pulling reports, etc. This position will liaison with the Norton Healthcare Foundation and Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation to drive fundraising efforts.

Key Accountabilities:
• Manage special events and special projects from start to finish for Norton King’s Daughter’s Health, Norton Healthcare Foundation and Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation, including but not limited to all event logistics, communications/marketing, social media promotion, website design and edits, budget and finances, etc. Signature events for Norton King’s Daughter’s Health include the Golf Scramble (May) and Gala (November).
• Cultivate ongoing donors and identify potential new donors by developing an initial and ongoing development plan, making donor visits and donor calls, making cold calls, writing thank you notes, etc.
• Manage community outreach and ongoing relationships with Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) area partners (Speedway, Wal-Mart, etc.) throughout the year.
• Prepare letters, proposals, and/or other communication materials for donors/prospects and other constituents, including donation thank you letters.
• Input or update records, pull reports, etc. in donor database (Raiser’s Edge), verifying that proper records are kept and donors are receiving receipts/thank you letters.
• Work with Norton Healthcare Foundation staff members on financial processes, gift processing, donor relations, events, etc.
• Serve as the public liaison and speaker to civic groups, businesses, community events/fairs, etc., as well as for internal NKDH providers and employees, to bring awareness around the Norton Healthcare Foundation and NKDH.
• Manage communication and relationship building with Norton King’s Daughter’s Health employees and patients through hospital tours, grateful patients, Nurses Week and Doctors Day, etc.
• Work with hospital staff (child life, expressive therapy, etc.) to determine and filter hospital needs and collaborate with foundation team and donors to fulfill these needs.
• Manage financial transactions in coordination with Planned Giving team within Norton Healthcare Foundation: Trusts/gift annuities/other planned giving vehicles.
• Work independently on a daily basis

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in fundraising, marketing, or related field.
• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and interacts with multiple audiences, including current and prospective donors, corporate contacts, hospital staff, etc.
• This position requires multi-tasking and the ability to manage projects independently.
• This position will require reliable transportation and flexible hours, including evening and weekend work.
• Desired: 3-4 years of related experience, 1 year of experience working in Raiser’s Edge or similar donor database.
