Position Overview:We are seeking a qualified Home Study Writer to support our foster program on a per diem/as needed basis. The Home Study Writer will be responsible for conducting comprehensive home studies for prospective foster parents, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and assessing the suitability of the home environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough home visits and interviews with prospective foster parents.
• Assess the physical and emotional environment of the prospective Foster Home.
• Gather relevant information through interviews, background checks, and reference checks.
• Prepare detailed and accurate Home Study Reports in accordance with organization guidelines and state regulations.
• Collaborate with social workers and other team members to gather additional information as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the Home Study process.
• Provide recommendations and feedback to the organization regarding the suitability of prospective foster parents.
• Stay informed about changes in relevant regulations and best practices related to foster care.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
• Previous experience in conducting home studies for foster care or adoption programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of child welfare regulations and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse individuals and families.
• Understanding and commitment to the mission and values of the Not-for-Profit Organization.
• Must have reliable transportation, a Valid Texas drivers license. - Travel will be reimbursed at IRS rate
