Summary of Work
Foster Care and In-Home Case Manager
The Children and Family Services Unit providesFoster Care and In-Home case management to children under the custodyof the county/state, their families and tochildren remaining In Home with parents. Overall case management includes initial and ongoing assessment/case plan development; coordinate and referral to services within thecommunity; on-going legal proceedings; out-of-home placement of children; on call duties and working closely with community partners in efforts to keep children safe. Comprehensive knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and state policy arenecessary for the position.
These services are directed toward the goal of helping individuals attain self-sufficiency; prevent/reduce abuse/neglect; preparation for independence and preservation and reunification of families. Children and Family Services unitprovides protective services to children under the age of 18 and programming for youth aging out of Foster Care to prepare for adulthood. This is all accomplished by maintaining confidentiality, treating clients with dignity and respect, and protecting their constitutional and civil rights.
Three Rivers Human Service Zone serves Morton, Grant and Sioux Counties. The home office is in Mandan with all counties covered. The Zone provides a friendly and flexible work environment.Ongoing training and education are a strong foundation of our group. We work closely with the school and community providers in our area and throughout the state. We are a family orientated organization and understand the needs at every level of life. Minimum Qualifications
Family Services Specialist III
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, human resource management (human service track), or criminal justice, and two years of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional Case Manager. A Master's degree in one of the areas above may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement. The appointing authority may identify specific certification/credential and experience depending upon the position to be filled.
