As part of the Pharma services team, our Cincinnati, OH site develops and manufactures oral drug products for a wide range of small and large pharma companies, including tablet, capsule, and liquid dosage forms employing a wide range of simple to complex manufacturing processes.

As a Formulation Technologist (night shift) you will closely work with scientists and engineers to support early development, formulation, process development, and large-scale commercial manufacturing activities. You will be primarily responsible to support these activities that occur during the night shift. Additional responsibilities include maintaining Early Development (ED) Laboratory R&D bench-scale manufacturing equipment and analytical testing instruments, stock change parts and supplies, schedule equipment use, coordinate calibration and maintenance, and train new area users. Some of the equipment in the ED Lab includes high shear granulator, fluid bed processor, tablet press, coating pan and roller compactor.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Primary responsibility is to provide technical support to the manufacturing areas during the night shift
  • Assist with small-scale manufacturing of solid oral, liquid and semi-solid formulations using early development equipment in close collaboration with formulation scientists.
  • Set up, operate and clean up various equipment in the formulation early development lab. Maintain a clean and organized early development laboratory, including non-GMP equipment and solid-state material testing instruments.
  • Assist the formulation scientists in completing formulation development activities and collect data for technical reports. Help to develop and implement tools and processes for scheduling work and monitoring equipment productivity.
  • Establish and maintain sample management practices, inventory and supply of excipients and other components. Maintains accurate, neat, error free records such as batch records and logbooks.
  • Ensure policies are followed regarding environmental health & safety, hazardous waste disposal and DEA compliance within the early development areas.
  • Assist in implementing technical improvements designed to improve the efficiency, reliability, and productivity of early development equipment conforming to applicable regulatory standards.
  • Occasional overtime is needed for this role depending on manufacturing activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or a state high school equivalent Diploma
  • 1 year experience of manufacturing experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in a Science or Engineering related field.
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals oral solid dosage manufacturing or pharmaceutical formulation development is preferred.

Experience:

An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP ) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
  • Communicates and co-operates with others to meet project and team objectives
  • Proficiency using Microsoft (MS) Office applications
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills, strong written communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, multi-task and adjust to changing priorities
