Now hiring an experienced sitdown forklift operator in Linden, NJ. The sitdown forklift operator will work in a facility that specializes in the handling, distribution and cross-docking of general commodities, retail merchandise, chemicals and related products. As a forklift operator you become an expert in the handling and storage of hazardous commodities, as well as specialized storage. The sitdown forklift operator will be working in a union environment with an opportunity to be hired as a permanent employee within 6 months. ...

Day shift 8am - 5:30pm
Responsibilities:
Load and unload trailers containing 55 gallon drums, 5 gallon pails, bags and cartons
Climb on and off High- Lo's throughout the day. Sit down/ride on a forklift. No pallet jack use.
Open steel trailer doors. This may require full extension of arms above the head and enough strength to pull doors apart and/or down.
Pallet building and pallet picks
Loads goods, physically, when required
Stacks crates pallets, and other materials
Other duties as assigned
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Skills:
Experience on different types of forklifts
Education:
No Degree Required
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
Ability to take direction, work independently, and communicate with all departments.
Minimum of 1+ years experience on a Forklift; within the last 6 months.
Positive attitude.
Attention to detail.
Steel Toed shoes
