Forklift Operator | Construction Crew Lead

About This Role:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates equipment safely and efficiently.
• Unload, palletize, pick, and load loose cartons.
• Provides daily preventative maintenance inspections on equipment as needed.
• escalates equipment mechanical faults to the Lead Site Manager.
• unloads/loads freight in a safe and effective manner.
• accurately verifies freight for quality and quantity.
• performs cycle counting as required.
• Communicate with others appropriately.
• Possible additional duties as allocated.

Education and Professional Experience:

• High school diploma or GED necessary.
• At least two years of experience operating forklifts and reach-lifts.
• Experience in industrial and commercial settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations.

• This position requires constant communication with both external contacts and other staff. In these cases, you must be able to share reliable information.
• Must be able to maneuver around industrial construction and use equipment (both motorized and manual) safely.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, periodically ascend/descend, position yourself to manually handle/sort/load/unload freight and products, and climb in/out of equipment within the construction site(s).
• Ability to routinely open and close dock, trailer, and container doors.
• Capable of often wrapping products below and above head level.
• Ability to frequently secure products and freight inside containers.
• Frequently required to manually handle product/freight and other objects of diverse shapes and sizes up to 50lbs without using equipment.

Working Conditions:

Construction environment. Weather-induced hot, chilly, rainy, humid, or windy circumstances can occur indoors or outdoors. Sufficient noise, whether regular or intermittent. Frequently exposed to pollutants, airborne particles, mechanical parts, and vibration.
