Forklift Operator

 

Position Purpose

ICP is a leading formulator and manufacturer of specialty coatings, adhesives, and sealants serving the construction and industrial end markets. In this role as a Forklift Operator, you will safely operate all equipment while working within a team to operate equipment to fill, label and package materials produced in the plant.

             

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible in selecting the correct product according to the pick sheet, placing the product on a pallet in a specified manner and placing the completed order at a designated staging area for shipment to our customers and/or dealers.
  • Operate a Forklift moving raw materials around the plant and loading onto pallets and loading and unloading onto trucks for shipping.
  • Stacking finished goods onto pallets, wrapping, and loading finished pallets onto trailers.
  • Must be able to work sitting or standing throughout the shift and work safely in an industrial plant environment using machinery and chemicals. 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production environment. 
  • Comfortable moving large amounts of product through congested areas using various types of equipment.
  • Prior loading/unloading experience in a high-volume facility.
  • Material handling, cycle counting and scanning experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements associated with manufacturing. 

 

Experience and Skills Requirements

  • 1-2 year of Forklift experience for sit down and standup forklifts.
  • Forklift Certification preferred.
  • Shipping and Receiving experience a plus.
  • Ideal candidates will also have experience using high-reach trucks as well to select product for shipping.
  • Experience reading and working with SOPs a plus.
  • Have experience working with chemicals and/or light chemical manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to comprehend and abide by relevant policies/procedures pertinent to safety, quality, security, and operations.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable, and change priorities and direction as needed.
  • Must have a positive attitude towards work and can work well as a member of a team
  • After receiving training, employee must be able to show understanding and competency on safety rules and regulations by written or verbal examination.
  • Ability to understand and follow posted signage throughout the facility.
  • Clear understanding of lock-out, tag-out procedures.
  • Must be familiar with the standard operating procedure and operator manual for the safe operation of the equipment.
  • Clear understanding of Hazard communication policies.

 

  Working Conditions

  • Required to have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20.
  • Employee must be able to hear and speak.
  • Employee must have full range of motion to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop or kneel.
  • Employee must be able to complete repetitive strenuous work under varying climate conditions.
  • Employee must be able to safely lift up to 70 Lbs.
  • Employee must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in a plant environment with varying levels of temperature and physical   requirements.
