Fork Lift Driver

General Purpose: To safely operate a variety of forklifts in order to complete orders for outbound product to customers.

Hourly rate: $17.77/hr + Opportunity for $1/hr increase after receiving High Lift Operator certification.

Positions Responsibilities:

• Receive all inbound product.
• Organize inbound product into the freezer warehouse.
• Assure all inbound counts are correct and all rotation criteria are met
• To pick orders and stage as per customer request
• To inspect for proper temperature settings and cleanliness of equipment prior to loading
• Confirm proper shipping procedures.
• Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Essential Skills and experience:

• Forklift Operator: pass written exam and receive certification
• Ability to operate machinery involved in the trailer loading process
• Ability to take orders and follow directions
• Negotiate a ladder and stairs
• Average math, writing and reading skills
• Hand and wrist movement to grasp, hold and move product consistently
• Time management
• Strong team player
• Communication skills: ability to communicate with other freezer personnel
• The ability to work overtime and weekends until essential job function is complete

Nonessential Skills:

It is important to be a self-starter and have good organizational skills.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to very cold temperature conditions (-20º below 0). The noise level in the work environment can be extremely loud.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to work standing for long periods of time. Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, lift and must be able to work under these conditions every day. This job requires frequent stacking of product with weights up to 50 lbs and to stack 400-500 cases per shift. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
