Supervises and installs all aspects of landscape including excavation, trenching, rock work, sprinkler plumbing, and planting. Cuts grass, repairs damaged lawns, prunes trees and shrubs. Lays out and tends flower beds or other decorative vegetation. Applies various types of fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides throughout grounds areas as needed. Maintains driveways and parking lots. Cares for and cultivates existing or newly installed crops and plants in the Center as well as the nursery/farm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises, coordinates, provides leadership to and reviews the work of assigned team members.
- Communicates with area managers to identify the needs of their areas and focuses on their concerns.
- Assists in the training and development of the team and the growth of the individual team members.
- Performs similar type of work as those supervising.
Requirements
- Must have a working knowledge and ability to understand instructions of fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides.
- Must be capable of a full range of body movements.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English.
- Should have a high school education or the equivalent.
- Must know how to use the types of tools and machines associated with professional groundskeeping and landscaping operations.
- Must be skilled in the use of commercial sprinkler systems.
- Prior Landscape maintenance experience is mandatory.
