Pleasant Hope High School has an opening for a Food Services Director for the 2024-2025 school year.
Pleasant Hope offers a 4-day school week (Tuesday-Friday), full health benefits, and a family-like working atmosphere. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge or experience in supervising food service personnel & suggesting candidates for hiring new employees; working with the budget & requesting bids from vendors; leadership & management of the school district's food service program. POSITION: Food Service Director
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: High School Graduate, preferred
2. Experience: 3 Years relevent experience in menu planning, food purchasing & preparation

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Superintendent
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Stated on Contract
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
Supervises all food service personnel & suggests candidates for hiring new employees. Working with the budget & requesting bids from vendors. Leadership & management of the school district's food service program.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide the day-to-day supervision of the food service operations.
2. Implement district, Dese, and USDA Guidelines for food service.
3. Purchase food, supplies and equipment according to district policies.
4. Plan menus to meet federal USDA requirements while maximizing inventory and minimizing costs.
5. Provide training for all food service employees.
6. Supervise and evaluate performance of food service employees.
7. Plan work schedules of kitchen helpers including leave requests per the employee handbook.
8. Order, receive and utilize government commodities according to federal guidelines.
9. Updates and maintains a school food safety HACCP plan and standardized recipes per USDA standards.
10. Responsible for accurate preparation and timely filing of reports, records and documentation required for the food service operations.
11. Ensure that standards of nutrition, food quality, cleanliness, health and safety are maintained at each school kitchen.
12. Maintain communication with building principals & nurses.
13. The food service director should continue to develop management skills by participating in at least 12 hours annual training.
14. Must maintain a current food handler permit.
15. Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superintendent.
