Food Service Coordinator

Extensive Travel Required.

Love of food and quality control necessary.

A desire to work for a Michigan based company appreciated.

Position is based out of Gaylord or surrounding area.

Job Purpose: 

Train, coach, execute and offer relief support in assigned areas for our EZ Mart Convenience Stores food-service operations.  This would include Lucky Louie Delis, Louie’s Markets, Chester’s Chicken and any of our locations that sell prepared foods.

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • At least 3 years of prior food-service experience required.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, regulations, and compliance are required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization including Directors, District Managers, Managers, Employees, Customers, and candidates is necessary.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize daily and weekly tasks.
  • Coach our store teams to generate food sales, consistently providing a quality product while providing outstanding customer experience.
  • Computer literacy is necessary, Microsoft suite of software as well as working knowledge of BCOC support systems to include, but not limited to: Kronos and ICIMS.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexible work schedule, with a focus on the needs of the business.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provides in-store training to Store Managers and hourly employees (Ex. Assistant Managers, Deli Managers, Customer Service Associates)
  • Identifies opportunities to improve or update effective training documentation and facilitation while ensuring company standards and goals are being met.
  • Support new and existing employees with follow up food-service training and coaching, as needed.
  • Work with the supervisor and Operations leadership to create and present content at meetings. Content may include recipe training, policy and procedure, training documents and materials etc.
  • Ability to organize, manage, coordinate, implement, oversee, and evaluate site-wide Food Service programs.

Other requirements:

  • Extensive travel will be required for this position. While many of the store locations will allow you to sleep at home at night due to proximity to your home, some locations and projects will require overnight travel.
  • Standing, walking, driving, bending, climbing a ladder and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • A company vehicle will be provided.
  • You must have a valid driver’s license and valid proof of car insurance.
