This position is responsible for oversight of the free lunch program and Food Service operations at the Knapp School & Yeshiva as well as Paraprofessional duties. 70% of this individual’s time will be dedicated to Food Service tasks, while 30% will be focused on Paraprofessional duties. The Food Service Administrator and Paraprofessional performs a variety of Food Service operations including preparing, servicing, and cleaning. Provides and maintains a safe and effective educational environment for all students and staff through close collaboration with School Teachers, Clinical Staff, and School Administration. Responsibilities:
Food Service:
- Track and order all student food and Food Service supplies.
- Prepare and deliver all Food Service to the students and classrooms.
- Monitor kitchen, food prep, and storage areas for the purpose of ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Enter student information into the ISBE database.
Paraprofessional:
- Remain present and available in designated work location/station during entire scheduled shift unless directed otherwise due to assignment change or crisis.
- Successfully complete and maintain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Ukeru.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Food Handler Certification
- ISBE Certified Paraprofessional
- Must be able to successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Ukeru training and maintain the required credentials.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs is preferred.
