Research and Development Food Scientist
Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Food Scientist position is ensuring excellent quality of products. The Food Scientist will help develop new products and improve current products. This position will work closely with management and quality team members to advance production and business needs.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for development of new products centered around the Mart Group vision.
· Identify processes, ingredients and materials to innovate products
· Work with vendors and customers to ensure food safety compliance
· Ensure proper documentation, including traceability of formulas of products
· Complete and review product sampling and product reports
· Coordinate with production needs to prepare and process correct products
· Responsible for lab cleanliness and sanitation procedures.
· Establish policies and procedures for product development
· Enforce Food Safety and Food Security plans
· Other Duties as assigned to help with production needs
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s in food science, Strong knowledge of FDA laws and regulations of the Food Industry.
· Must be able to communicate effectively and ensure standards are followed.
· Strong computer skills, efficiency with Microsoft applications
Reasoning Ability:
This position requires a high degree of self-confidence and maturity to make decisions required in day-to-day activities. Must be able to solve problems with minimal direction, be detailed oriented and have strong organizational skills. A team player who is flexible and accepts changing assignments and accountabilities. Should display excellent interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
