Food Safety Quality Supervisor

Red's is the fastest growing frozen natural food company in the US still led by our founder and we need strong players ready to join a winning, entrepreneurial team.We are looking for a talented and hard-working associate to join our growing team as a Food Safety and Quality Manager.Will be responsible for the direct Management of all Quality Technicians. Will be responsible for the day to day activities of all FSQAtechnicians. Will oversee all plant quality activities including scheduling, discipline, system and program health checks, FSQA documentation, and be aFSQA leader, responsible for interaction and communication across departments.Assist in thedevelopment, communication, and training ofdirect reports on written policies and procedures. Assist in the formulation and recommendion ofnew policies or changes to current policies to management. Conducts a continuing review of all GMP's, SQF, QA, SSOP's, and Food Safety policies, programs and practices. Supports operations in ensuring that training, testing, and new product development is done in compliance with all Federal, State and Company regulatory policies and procedures.Interact with USDA and FDA on all levels in person or in writing concerning issues with plant policies, facilities, and programs. Daily interaction and direction of subordinates with respect to local representative and higher officials. Maintain and update all required records and any non-compliance issues.Will be required to conduct performance reviews on FSQA direct reports. Communicates performance standards team, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems.Ensures compliance with all USDA/FDA policies and procedures. Responsible for assigned locations which ensure that mandatory information is maintained pursuant to company policies and procedures. Conduct investigations with support of operations and support departments, to ensure consistency. Ensures that the company's product hold policies and procedures are communicated to plant staff and recommends, as appropriate, the suspension of production or the retention of product when quality standards are not achieved.Assist in thedevelopmentand performs training programs relating to all areas of HACCP, Food Safety, and FSQA policies and procedures. Assist in thesemi-annual training on FSQA and Food Safety related topics to ensure compliance with USDA, customer, and management development topics.Responds to questions regarding the understanding, interpretation, and implementation of FSQA, policies and procedures. Will be required to hold FSQA departmental meetings with Staff on a dailybasis. MQualifications5-7 years' experience in a FSA/ Food Safety Management in a food manufacturing/production environment.Seasoned knowledge of associated laws and regulations relating to: General FSQA Management, USDA, FDA, Food Safety Audits, Labeling, Micro testing, GMP, FSMA, and SSOP s.Ability to work well with others with diverse backgrounds and at various organizational levels.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver professional services.Talent for multitasking, with superior attention to detail and organized.Ability to work well both independently and in teams.Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.Bi-lingual skills not required but preferred.PreferredHACCP/GFSI certificationPCQI certificationExperience in a 24-hour manufacturing facility in quality or Food SafetyRequiredBachelor s Degree in food science or equivalent working knowledge5-7 years' experience in a QA/ Food Safety Management in a food manufacturing/production environment.Physical DemandsContinuous standing in one location for long periods (up to 2-3 hours before break); up to 10-hour shiftsClimbing or moving on ladders, steps, stairwells, walkways, and platforms,Carrying, lifting, lowering, pushing and pulling of heavy and/or awkward objects or loads.
