The Inn at the Pier is looking for Food Runners and Bussersto join the team!
The Food Runner and Busser is responsible for completing opening checklist, perform side work, setting tables, clearing tables following guest departure, providing water and water refills, replenish glasses, china, silver, linen, and assist the server as needed.
Hourly Rate: $16.00
Essential Requirements:
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards, scheduling will vary according to the hotel
business demands. - Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming (per brand standards).
- Always comply with the hotel’s standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Comply with certification requirements as applicable to position to include Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, Safety, etc.
- Knowledge of hotel outlets hours of operation, hotel activities, meeting room locations, management names and offices, and in-house functions.
- Effectively utilizes restaurant opening checklist.
- Carries dirty dishes from dining room to dish area utilizing proper lifting and carrying techniques.
- Set table using proper china, glass, silver, and linen, prepares beverages and expedites food orders.
- Able to accurately complete side work during shift.
- Utilizes proper table etiquette in approach, greeting, serving of beverage, clearing, and replacing utensils.
- Wipes tabletops and chairs with damp cloth.
- Will act as a liaison between kitchen and service staff.
- Replenishes supply of clean linens, polished silver/glassware, and dishes in dining room.
- Able to restock pars of glasses, china, silver, and linen.
- Supplies bar with food items ordered.
- Serves ice water and bread & butter to patrons.
- Able to properly use toaster, bread warmer, coffee/tea machines, soda dispenser, and cappuccino machine.
- Cleans and polishes refrigerator shelves and doors and equipment such as coffee urns and cream and milk
dispensers. - Able to assist a server during dining service.
- Sweeps and mops floors, and vacuums carpet areas.
- Able to assist stand set up, pre-shift side work, and room cleanliness.
- Communicate received information to staff and all departments.
- Must be familiar with other restaurant positions and job responsibilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of proper safety procedures including food handling procedure
- Able to accurately follow closing checklist procedures.
- Able to complete a maintenance request form.
- Never eat or drink in public view.
- Sanitize eating area, as used, every 20 minutes, wash or sanitize hands every 20-30 minutes while in high
contact areas. - Be helpful and knowledgeable with questions asked.
- Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
- Be familiar with the function of each department.
- Attend meetings as required by management.
- Perform any other duties as requested by management.
- High School diploma or up to one-year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience as busser.
