Production Workers are responsible for preparation of all room service and cafeteria food. They complete daily worksheets and use standardized recipes. Other responsibilities include proper food handling, storage, and rotation of inventories in the department. Maintains and adheres to all procedures in order to produce attractive, palatable, nutritious and safe food for all patients and guest.

Responsibilities
Standards
• Responsible for properly documenting all HACCP/department logs in accordance to policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates accurate FIFO rotation, labeling/dating and sanitation procedures.
• Carves, slices or otherwise portions foods to assure effective portion and waste control.
• Participates in monitoring of food quality, temperature and accuracy.
• Ensures that equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and used properly.
• Maintains daily cleaning tasks and ensures they are all completed and documented on proper logs.
• Maintains and adheres to all recipes/procedures in order to produce palatable, attractive and safe food to all customers.
Knowledge
• Demonstrates proper food safety by properly preparing, slicing, cooking, and grilling using HACCP regulations.
• Follows instruction and proper food safety when completing each recipe.
• Follows HIPAA, JCAHO, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guidelines in healthcare.
• Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections by reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
Communication/Customer Service
• Communicates with patient, guests, nursing, and co-workers.
• Integrates and demonstrates FOCUS values and Expectations for Personal and Service Excellence to guide professional behaviors, while adhering to the policies and procedures.
• Promotes excellent customer service by following our FOCUS values friendly, efficient and responsive attitude toward patients, guests, customers and co-workers.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service
Qualifications
Required
Two years cooking or food service experience and the ability to perform at the cook's level within six months in this position.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand oral and written communication in English.
Ability to perform basic math.
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
Preferred
ServSafe Certification is preferred but not required.
Knowledge in the area of modified diets is preferred.
