Food Pantry Program Specialist
The Food Pantry Program Assistant position is designed to assist the Program Coordinator with the day- to-day operations of the Children’s Market. That role will primarily include maintaining inventory, accepting deliveries, stocking shelves, and filling family bags. The Specialist may interact with clients and volunteers.

Duties
- Accept regular deliveries from our suppliers and community partners, ensuring timely receipt and proper storage.
- Organize and assemble food, clothing, and hygiene items as requested by manager, staff, and clients
- Maintain inventory in the Children's Cabinet Market, proactively communicating stock levels and needs to the Program Coordinator
- Prepare designated quantities of food and personal items for distribution as needed.
- Alternatively, help clients make their food and personal item selections in the Food Pantry.
- Take inventory of goods on hand as needed. Make an order or inform the appropriate person of the need for replenishing supplies.
- Receive food and material orders and donations. Issue receipts for donations of monetary and in-kind gifts. Record amounts received. Stock shelves. Store foods according to established standards, procedures, and Food Code
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards and guidelines, promoting a safe, clean, and healthy Food Pantry.
- Train and oversee Food Pantry volunteers including tracking names and hours of volunteers, as directed
- Achieve an understanding of the agency mission, strategic focus areas, and overall goals and objectives. Contribute to the success of these areas.

- Use excellent inter-personal skills, including intangible qualities (e.g., friendliness, openness, non- judgmental attitude, enthusiasm, empathy etc.);
- Work collaboratively with staff;
Special Requirements
- High school/GED required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
- Must possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License, and proof of insurance for utilizing a personal vehicle for company business.
- Be physically capable of performing all job duties. This may include lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs., walking up and down stairs, and data entry requiring repetitive typing motion
License or Certificate
- Able to pass complete background check.
- Willing to obtain required medical screen and immunizations such as TB test, Hepatitis, etc.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 25 hours a week, 2 pm to 7 pm
