Job description

The Food Institute (FI) Technician supports the Food Institute by assisting the Nutrition Health Liaison with essential tasks that contribute to operations helping food insecure patients. This position also supports the Lifestyle Coaching (LC) Program Manager with essential tasks to enroll clients in LC events and facilitate Zoom classes for chronic disease management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving food shipments, rotating inventory, data entry, contacting patients upon referral, enrolling clients in LC programs, scheduling patients for FI appointments, conducting food demonstrations, and transporting food shares to patient vehicles. The position may include travel to other campus locations or community locations. This position may also help support the outpatient dietitian program.
Education
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associates Degree in Nutrition or a health related field

Registration/Certification/Licensure:
Current ServSafe Certification or must obtain within three months of hire/transfer and Act 33/73 clearances
Experience
Minimum: Six months in the one of the following: Use of electronic patient and/or data entry tools, patient/customer service, or health related patient interaction.
Preferred: Prior experience with Microsoft Office, focus on Excel

I. Specific Job Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
1. Retrieves referrals for FI and LC, calls patients to set appointments for the FI, registers patients/clients for LC events, and performs follow-up communication at the direction of the LC Program Manager and Nutrition Health Liaison.
