Job Description

Seeking a professional with at least one year of administrative work experience for a full-time, remote role promoting a plant-based diet. A bachelor's degree and experience with program and grant administration is preferred but not required.

About the Physicians Committee

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is dedicated to saving and improving human and animal lives through plant-based diets and ethical and effective scientific research. Our vision is to create a healthier world through a new emphasis on plant-based nutrition, and scientific research conducted ethically, without using animals. We invite you to visit our YouTube channel, our website, and Physicians Committee president Dr. Neal Barnard's blog.

About the Nutrition Team

Over the past three decades, the Physicians Committee's nutrition department has achieved many important successes. We have contributed to the elimination of the "meat group" in federal nutrition guidelines, carried out clinical research studies that have revolutionized the treatment of diabetes, and provided the scientific foundation for the health benefits of plant-based diets. We aim to propel continued progress through direct patient care, nutrition education, and advocacy.

About this Career Opportunity

The Food for Life Program Associate will play a critical role in promoting plant-based diets through strategic programs, with a primary focus on the Food for Life nutrition and cooking program. This position entails managing and facilitating instructor communications, collaborating with the team to expand the program, delivering trainings, and managing and interpreting data for key initiatives.

Essential functions will include:

  • Provide administrative support for program operations, including handling class registration requests, scheduling, and post-class administration.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of unique curricula to enhance program reach.
  • Assist with the administration and logistics of Food for Life instructor training and summits.
  • Gather and analyze data from classes for program monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date web communications related to the program.
  • Collaborate across departments to achieve organizational objectives and contribute to strategy and planning.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have 1 to 4 years of administrative and grant administration work experience and strong communication skills. Experience in program administration is a plus. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
