Our family owned and award-winning Senior Living Community, is searching for a mature, reliable, and capable individual to join our Food & Beverage team. Position Available
- Experienced Cook.
Responsibilities:
- Cook a variety of high quality dishes in large quantities
- Responsible for ensuring proper meal preparation and assuring meals are served on time
- Ensure all meals are attractively plated
- Control portion size and mitigate waste
- Train staff as needed to all tasks within the Kitchen
- Determine/order Food & supply needs based on menus
- Inspect food products and supplies as needed
- Ensure work environment and stations are clean and sanitized
- Comply with outlined safety regulations and procedures
- Responsible for creating weekly menu & scheduling of Food & Beverage employees
Qualifications:
- Culinary certification or degree from a culinary school preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2-3 years food service or restaurant experience required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Comfortable standing, stooping, squatting, twisting, and moving frequently
- Ability to pass a food service sanitation course
- Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances
- Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, & safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow recipes.
