Food And Beverage Manager

Franklin Street is currently seeking a Food and Beverage Manager to support our property in St. Petersburg, FL, The Exchange Hotel.

The ideal candidate must possess 2-3 years of experience in a Food and Beverage management role and a high school diploma/GED. ServSafe or TIPS Certification is preferred. Must be able to train staff and manage conflict. Professional-level communication skills are required.

Position Overview:

The Food & Beverage Manager will promote and grow the business, hire and train waitstaff, and ensure that patrons receive excellent drinks, food, and service. You will work shifts as a bartender, manage inventory and resources, plan events, ensure that quality and safety controls are being followed, maintain current licenses and update vendor contracts, create schedules, and set business objectives to increase profits and maximize customer satisfaction. In addition, you will supervise the food prep and cooking, maintain a fully stocked kitchen inventory, and comply with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage our kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time.

• Manage the business aspects of the bar, such as keeping a current liquor license, negotiating supplier contracts, taking inventory, and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals.
• Work shifts as bartender or kitchen as needed.
• Hire and train kitchen and bar staff to provide excellent service to patrons.
• Create effective schedules and quickly resolve conflicts to ensure that the bar is well staffed during peak hours.
• Supervise the Food Safety Standards of the Bar and Kitchen. Be aware of all Department of Health Standards.
• Schedule FOH and BOH
• Order Liquor, oversee kitchen orders utilizing the budget to maintain proper costs.
• Keep monthly Cost reports.
• Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls.
• Ensuring licenses are updated and in line with current legislation.
• Plan and take part in promotional events.
• Diffuse intense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed.
• Maintain a fun and safe atmosphere for patrons.
• Organize orders, invoices, and inventory.
• Take initiative to solve problems as they arise.
• Check for completed assigned work daily.
• Complete assigned shift duties
• Perform additional duties assigned.

Requirements:

• 2-3 Years Bar/Kitchen Manager and or Restaurant Manager experience
• Work with diverse personalities
• Conflict management
• ServSafe and/or TIPs certified a Plus
• Strong leadership and communication skills to train and coach staff
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Works clean and maintains a clean station/area.
• Comfortable holding staff to high standards and holding them accountable.
• Diligent with Money Handling- Cash Drawers, Safe Counts, Tips, DSR
• Understands and follows all policies and procedures.
• Abides by the standards of restaurant sanitation and safety.
• Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment.
• High school diploma or GED
