FSW’s Head Start/Early Head Start is a federal government program that was created in 1965 to give preschool children from low-income families a “head start” on their readiness for elementary school.

Job Details:

Family Services of Westchester is looking for full-time Food Aide for our
Yonkers, NY Head Start program. We are hiring for multiple locations throughout Westchester County.

POSITION TITLE: Food Aide

STATUS: Full time/ Permanent

SUPERVISED BY: Carmen Guzman

PURPOSE: Assist in the preparation of food; prepare assigned food serving area and perform cashiering duties in the sale of food items to students and staff; maintain cleanliness of food service facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Serving and distributing all meals and supplies to the classrooms
• Disinfecting and maintaining the work area clean/Wash all used utensils
• Auditing all housewares supplies to keep good inventory on site
• Meal count daily.
• The Temperature of Meals record
• Follow CACFP Requirements
• Helping in the classroom as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have active ServSafe Certification
• Must have a High School Diploma
