TechOp Solutions International is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a FOIA Intake Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the intake and initial processing of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests in the defense and space industry. As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), TechOp Solutions International prides itself on providing exceptional services to Federal, state, local, and private/commercial organizations involved in security threats, including natural and manmade disasters.

We are seeking an individual to provide the effective and efficient management of information to the Department of Education’s (Department’s) success in achieving its goals, objectives, and its mission. The Department is responsible for ensuring timely responses to FOIA requests assigned by the FOIA Service Center (FSC


Responsibilities
  • Manage the intake and initial processing of FOIA requests, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather necessary information and documentation to respond to FOIA requests.
  • Conduct research and analysis to determine the appropriate handling of sensitive and classified information.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of FOIA requests, including tracking progress and deadlines.
  • Prepare responsive documents and responses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of efficient processes and workflows for FOIA intake and processing.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel and other departments as needed to ensure compliance with FOIA regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Proven experience working with FOIA, preferably within the defense and space industry is preferred.
  • Experience with FOIAXpress strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accurate and thorough documentation.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
