The Position: We are looking for a candidate who will be performing the role of a Tech Writer/ Logistics Analyst IV, supporting the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) product office and Utility Helicopter Project Office (UHPO) - International Program Office (IPO).

The Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL

The Work Environment: On-Site.

Requires the employee to work on-site at the government program office. The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.

The Description:

  • Performing reviews, redactions, and marking of UHPO proponent manuals.
  • Analyzing, developing, creating, and updating Extensible Markup Language (XML) for Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) and/or page based technical publications.
  • Conducting research and analysis of provided source data and interpret data into usable XML for UHPO proponent publications.
  • Work with equipment specialists, illustrators, engineers, customers, and team members to review, redact, and mark UHPO publications.
  • Ensure that technical publications comply with required specifications and/or military standards (MIL-STD-40051-1A, MIL-STD-40051-1B, MIL-STD-63029, MIL-STD-38784, MIL-HDBK-1222, MIL-HBK-2361, etc.).
  • Provide quality, accurate, and timely XML electronic data integration and analysis.
  • Comply with internal processes and procedures to ensure quality control.
  • Utilize configuration management software and comply with configuration management processes to maintain historical documentation.
  • Ability to perform peer reviews, tabletop reviews, validations, and verifications.
  • Review/analyze technical data received from SRD, vendors, and OEM.
  • Actively participate in all meetings.

Education & Experience:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree with eight (8) years of related experience.
    • ALLOWABLE SUBSITIUTIONS:
      • PhD with four (4) years of related experience.
      • Master's Degree with six (6) years of related experience.
      • Associate's Degree with ten (10) years of relate experience.
      • High School Diploma/GED with twelve (12) years of related experience.
    • Aviation aircraft/major weapon system maintenance, recognition, and readiness
    • Acquisition and/or sustainment logistics
    • Ability to convert source data to updated Military Standards.
    • Knowledge of MIL-STD-40051; MIL-HDBK-1222; MIL-PRF-63029.
    • Ability to convert source data in various formats (Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML), Word Documents, PDFs, etc.) to XML.
    • Proficiency with utilizing Ultraedit to modify XML, Arbortext Editor, and Interactive Authoring and Display System (IADS) software is required.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Clear and concise communication within a cohesive team environment is required.
    • Organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task; prioritize internal and external tasks/projections.
    • Ability to comprehend engineering technical data.

Travel:

  • On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
