The Flow Cytometry Technologist processes specimens and performs complex acquisition and analysis procedures for testing performed in the clinical Flow Cytometry section of the laboratory. Testing includes but is not limited to immunodeficiency panels, leukemia/lymphoma panels, quantitative PNH assays, and DNA analysis. Responsibilities also include instrument maintenance and function checks, quality control and quality assurance activities, validation of new methods, and training of new employees. The medical technologist exercises broad independent judgment and requires minimal technical supervision to complete assigned tasks.

Field of Study: Medical Technology or Biological Science
Training/Experience: Licensure Requirements: Florida State Medical Technologist license in the specialties of Hematology and Serology/Immunology are required. Previous experience as a medical technologist in the specialty of hematology is preferred. Previous Flow Cytometry experience including data acquisition and analysis is also preferred.
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a highly technical, precise environment.
